Jamaican dancehall and global superstar, Sean Paul, attended the 30th annual Billboard Latin Music Awards in fine style.

The event, which celebrated the best of Latin music across various genres and categories, took place on Thursday at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida. Sean Paul was nominated for his first-ever Billboard Latin Music Award in the Crossover Artiste of the Year category. He competed against fellow nominees Justin Timberlake, Lil Jon, Marshmello and Maître Gims, with the award going to Marshmello.

Although Sean Paul did not win the Crossover Artiste of the Year award, his first nomination in the Latin Billboard crossover category marks a significant milestone in his celebrated career.

Sean Paul has made significant inroads in the Latin music scene for years, collaborating with artistes such as Shakira, Daddy Yankee, Enrique Iglesias, J Balvin and Karol G. His most recent hit was TQG, with Karol G and Shakira, which was nominated for Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event. Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma took home the award for Ella Baila Sola.

On the red carpet, the multi-award-winning Jamaican artiste shared his excitement and gratitude for being recognised by the Billboard Latin Music Awards. He also talked about his upcoming projects, including a new album and more collaborations with Latin artistes such as Karol G, Feid and Ozuna.

He was greeted warmly by numerous renowned artistes, including Karol G, who was a top contender in various categories and walked away with the Top Latin Album of the Year Award. Their exchange showcased the mutual respect and admiration that exists among today’s global music icons.

Known for his vibrant blend of dancehall, reggae, and pop, the Scorcha hitmaker has consistently pushed musical boundaries and is one of the most successful and influential crossover artistes. The recognition not only demonstrates his versatility as an artiste but also solidifies his position as a leading force in the industry. He has sold over 26 million records worldwide and won numerous awards, including a Grammy, a Brit Award and an MTV Video Music Award. He continues to break boundaries and create music that connects people across languages and cultures.
