Sean Paul gets second Teen Choice Award nom

International Dancehall superstar Sean Paul continues to reap success for his work in 2016, with the recent announcement of his second Teen Choice Awards nomination. His collaboration — Clean Bandit’s hit single Rockabye, which also featured Anne-Marie — earned the artiste a nomination in the category of Choice Electronic/Dance Song.

In 2016, Sean Paul nabbed a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Party Song with Sia’s Cheap Thrills.

Rockabye details the hardships of single mothers, which the artiste says is a topic he is passionate about, having been grown up in a single-parent home while his father served prison time. The single was released on October 21, 2016 and entered the UK Singles Chart at number seven after one week. The following week, it climbed to number three, before high performance in streaming got it to number one on its third week. It charted platinum on most charts across the world and peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts.

The 2017 staging of Teen Choice Awards celebrates the year's achievements in music, film, television, sports, fashion, comedy, and the internet, and the winners are chosen by voters aged 13–19 over various social media sites.

Though voting has been closed, Sean Paul fans can still use the hashtag and tag @duttypaul on social media spaces such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook by using.

Teen Choice Awards 2017 will take place at USC’s Galen Center on Sunday, August 13 and will air live on FOX.

Grammy Award winning Sean Paul is now on tour after blazing the Reggae Sumfest stage in his home country, Jamaica on Saturday, July 22. Fans in Canada can head to Beach Club Pointe Calumet to see Sean Paul on Monday, July 31 and Tuesday, August 1.
